Old Business:

  • Community Outreach Fundraiser – Still waiting for all of your volunteer work out in our great community, whether you support you local children’s soccer league or you chair a particular charity…whatever it is that you do, we want to know.
  • Care packages for our IA’s are built and awaiting our members to get us their contact info so we can get them out to them.
  • The gumbo sale went great…although for the amount of work that went into it v. the amount we raised from makes it look like we will be sticking to Pizza / Pasta sales.

New Business:

  • ALL FUNDRAISING HAS CEASED.  That’s right, every bit.  We are currently looking for any type of big Navy instruction / administrative note / SORM - SORN entry or some type of tradition that says that we can continue to operate the same way.  It is either that or begin charging dues…this topic will come up again; our SEL will be joining us, at our next meeting, to discuss this topic.
  • The JEA LOGO contest is off and running.  This is your opportunity to make a permanent imprint in our command and win a $25 NEX gift card while you’re at it.  Entries must be appropriate, show the true spirit of our junior enlisted and still encompass a little naval tradition.  But, most importantly, it must be different and FUN.  You do not have to do it on the computer, it can be hand drawn…whatever you skill is bring it to the table, win a prize – and maybe a little pride too!  Entries MUST            be submitted to your VP (YN2 Bragg) no later than March 23rd.  Then, on the 25th of March, we will vote in our new LOGO (now you’re seeing why this next meeting is SOOO important)!!!
  • WOW!!! With all that is going on it looks like “The Bake Sale” has been pushed down to #3 on the list!  Your JEA has voted on doing a bake sale…but not just any old bake sale, one that will get the entire community involved.  I will send out the details as they come in but we will need as much help as we can muster up to make this happen.  If you want to help feed America’s children, we want your help.  Please see STG2 Adam Gable if you can/want to help.
  • The idea of serving healthier food has come up.  The idea is that it would be better for us, people have asked about it, but what it comes down to is what will people buy.  The lasagna and pasta sale went great, you voted and it looks like we will continue to do business as usual.
  • How about a Command Wide Mini-Golf Tourney?  We will make it just like the actual golf tournament that the command intends on doing – but fun!  Remember, its not golf in miniature – its miniature golf!  Keep you eyes and ears open for this in the future.
  • We currently have $344 in our box and $100 in the box.  With no more fundraisers until #1(above) is fulfill this will put us short for a bit but I still plan on pushing $100 over to our MWR, with all our gratitude, this will be half of what we owe them for start up money.

*Meeting adjourned at 1045.  Your next meeting will be March 25th, at 1000 in the N7 Breakroom.
