Junior Sailor Of the Quarter

Career Goals: My short term career goals here at TTGP are to make Petty Officer First Class along with achieving my Associates Degree in Human Resources. Side note I would also like to become the JSOQ and JSOY in 2009.  Long term career goals I would have to say is to one day earn my bachelors degree and become an Officer of the U.S. Navy.  Last but not least to retire from our great Navy in order to enjoy my retirement at an early age and travel the world.

Hobbies: My most interesting hobby, at this moment in my life, is being a mentor for the youth at my church.  Its gives me great pleasure to talk to the youth, keep them interested about life and letting them know that they can achieve anything they want and most of all stressing education to them.  Secondly, my next most interesting hobby, is writing.  Since I was a little boy I have always enjoyed writing poetry, it gives me an opportunity to release my happiness, sadness or pain. Most of all I enjoy playing basketball and coaching my men's league.  I always wanted to be a coach and now that I have that opportunity I cherish and take pride in what I do.

Knowledge to pass on: In my career I have come across many great people and whether it was something that they said or something that they did, I could never forget them.  The statement "knowledge to pass on" is so deep in a sense.  I would say to be true to yourself, enjoy your life, and always work hard to get where you want to in life.  Know that in life nothing is free and that you are going to have some bad days.  In the end it is all about what you want in life.  Do the right thing, even when faced with adversity still do the right thing.  And hopefully, one day, in your life, you too will be able to pass on some great bit of knowledge that will make in impact on someone else’s life.
